Estelle has always been an artist. Her

formal education includes the study of Textiles

and Jewellery Design during high school,

following which she went on to study 2D and

3D Art and Painting at the Cape Technical

College in Cape Town.

Estelle worked with leather for a number of years before trying her hand at tattooing. She considers the leatherwork to have been a big stepping stone into her tattoo career. Estelle honed her skin art skills in henna before pursuing her permanent tattoo trade. She never received an apprenticeship in tattooing, although she worked alongside some of SA’s finest in henna whilst mastering her trade. She is mostly self-taught. Estelle has been tattooing professionally for the past 14 years.

Ocean Ink Tattoos is based on the Garden Route

in the coastal town of Plettenberg Bay.

Estelle’s love for the ocean and nature is her inspiration in life and in her work. She is a keen traveller and has travelled as far afield as

Thailand, Holland and Spain for commissioned tattoo work. Most recently, she travelled to

India to attend an international tattoo convention.

Estelle's intricate and detailed design work

forms a large part of creating unique, personalised tattoos for each individual client.

She also works on commissioned designs

at an hourly rate - using the latest available technology to complete her original works of art.
